About the Maker

I’m Sarah, the face behind The Floral Press Co. I’m so glad you’ve dropped by. When I had my 30th birthday and I felt like something had awakened in me! I was  feeling more free and adventurous than ever before. So the floral press was the start of that awakening! My husband and I currently live in Ottawa, Ontario with our cute - but sassy - fur baby, Nala.

To be honest, I was never really one for jewelry. The only pieces I did wear was my wedding ring and maybe a tiny pair of studs but after 2020 and all it had to offer (c-vid) I needed to do something for self-care. For Christmas my hubby got me a beautiful pair of clay earrings, which I absolutely LOVED. I thought to myself “I wonder if I could make these?” So I bought a block of clay and just started. It was not pretty nor put together properly. The holes were lopsided, the edges were rough, I didn’t know how to put the backs on properly, but it was fun and honestly it helped me escape some stuff I had going on in my head. I was able to get away, turn on my tunes and create beautiful things. I didn’t plan on starting a business, but then I had other people start asking me where I got my earrings from and one thing turned into another.

So here we are now. The start of something new and beautiful.
